The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Nasarawa State, Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, has appealed to aspirants who lost the party’s governorship primary to remain in the party and work for its success in the 2027 general election.
Wadada made the appeal while addressing journalists in Lafia following his emergence as the party’s candidate.
He described his victory as a triumph for democracy, unity and the collective aspirations of the people of Nasarawa State, and commended the APC leadership for conducting what he described as a peaceful, transparent and credible primary election.
“My victory is a victory for democracy, unity, continuity and the collective aspirations of our people,” he said.
According to him, the conduct of the primary reflected the strength of the party’s internal democracy and reinforced members’ confidence in the APC.
Wadada also praised the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule, saying it had laid a solid foundation for development through investments in infrastructure, industrialisation, agriculture, healthcare, education, security and economic growth.
The APC candidate called on all aspirants who participated in the primary, including those who contested against him, to accept the outcome of the exercise and join hands to ensure the party’s victory in the next election.
He expressed appreciation to contestants who had accepted the result of the primary as well as those who withdrew from the race and supported his aspiration.
Wadada said the party’s immediate task was to strengthen internal unity and begin preparations for the 2027 governorship election.
