Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have arrested two suspects in connection with an attack on vigilante operatives and the subsequent burning of their office in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The suspects were arrested at about 1.40 a.m. on Monday in the NEPA area of Jos North Local Government Area by troops of Sector 1 of the operation.

The Media Information Officer of Operation Enduring Peace, Capt. Chinonso Oteh, confirmed the arrest while speaking to journalists in Jos on Wednesday.

Oteh said the suspects were arrested following allegations linking them to the attack on vigilante personnel and the setting ablaze of their office.

He added that the suspects were being held for further investigation and necessary action.

According to him, the arrest formed part of ongoing military efforts to curb criminal activities and maintain peace across Plateau State.

Oteh assured residents that security personnel would intensify operations to identify and arrest individuals involved in activities capable of threatening peace and security in the state.

He urged members of the public to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could help prevent crime and facilitate the arrest of suspects.

“We call on members of the public to cooperate with the military and other security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could assist in preventing criminal activities and apprehending suspects,” he said.

He pointed out that public cooperation remained essential to sustaining peace and security across the state.
