The President of the Gindiri Old Students Association (GOSA), Arc. Samuel Nanchang Jatau, has urged students to strive for academic excellence while balancing sports with their formal education. He made this call during the donation of sports equipment to Boys’ Secondary School (BSS) and Girls’ High School (GHS), in Gindiri.
The donation was made possible through the efforts of GOSA’s Executive Committee (EXCO), following recommendations from its Education Committee, chaired by Prof. Solomon Mangvwat. The formal presentation took place at the Vincent Assembly Hall of GHS, Gindiri.
Welcoming the GOSA delegation, the Principal of BSS, Mr. Titus Bezum, expressed deep appreciation for the association’s consistent support.
He remarked, “No old students’ association in Nigeria is doing what GOSA is doing for its alma mater in enhancing and improving the schools for the current crop of students.”
Prof. Mangvwat, in his remarks, commended GOSA’s swift action, describing it as a reflection of the association’s seriousness and commitment. He emphasized that the Education Committee was honored to be part of the initiative and pledged continued partnership in supporting both academics and sports development.
Representing the GOSA President, the National Legal Adviser, Barr. Jonathan Mawiyau, performed the formal presentation of the equipment. Speaking with nostalgia, he noted that GOSA’s projects always turn out excellently.
“Sports is good for you; it helps you develop, it helps you think well,” he told the students, encouraging them to make the most of the facilities.
In her appreciation message, Mrs. Tabitha Saleh, Principal of GHS, thanked GOSA on behalf of both schools, acknowledging the association’s unwavering commitment to their progress.
The donation is one among others, and demonstrates GOSA’s dedication to giving back to its alma mater and fostering holistic development among students in Gindiri.
