In a significant administrative development, Plateau State University, PLASU, Bokkos, has announced the appointment of new deans, directors and heads of units, aimed at repositioning key sectors of the institution for greater efficiency and growth.
An internal memorandum, issued by the Registrar, Yakubu F. Ayuba, confirmed that the Vice-Chancellor approved the appointments as part of strategic efforts to strengthen academic excellence, research output and administrative performance.
Among the prominent appointments, Prof. Theresa Gyang emerged as Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies, while Dr. Rahila Dantong was given the role of Dean of Student Affairs. Prof. Buba Wufem was appointed Director of Academic Planning, responsible for shaping the institution’s academic direction.
Associate Prof. Priscilla Marcus was appointed Director of General Studies, overseeing foundational student education, supported by Dr. Patience M. Kolade as Deputy Director.
Other key roles covered health services, research and development, internal audit and entrepreneurship development. Strategic areas such as TETFund projects and training signalled a renewed focus on innovation and capacity building.
All appointments took effect from March 30, 2026, for an initial period of two years, with handovers expected on or before April 2, 2026.
The Vice-Chancellor, Proffessor Shadrach Best, expressed appreciation to former office holders for their contributions, acknowledging their service during periods of transition and institutional growth.
