WITH three games and no point, Plateau United sit bottom of the NPFL table after yet another loss to Rangers in Enugu over the weekend.
Rangers overcame Plateau United 2-0 in Enugu, with Chidozie Iwundu and Chidiebere Nwobodo delivering the decisive blows.
Their lifeless start in the league games have made them the only team yet to find the back of net this season, a worrying statistic for a club with lofty ambitions.
Reigning champions, Remo Stars, climbed to the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table after edging Warri Wolves 1-0 at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, on Match day 3.
Former Katsina United forward, Samson Olasupo, struck in the 77th minute to hand the Sky Blue Stars their first home victory of the season and second overall, lifting them to seven points.
Wikki Tourists moved into second place, also on seven points, courtesy of a 1-0 home win over Abia Warriors, who slipped to 14th after back-to-back defeats.
In Aba, Enyimba and Nasarawa United battled to a goalless draw, while Rivers United extended their unbeaten run in Maiduguri with another 0-0 stalemate against El Kanemi Warriors.
In other games, Shooting Stars and Ikorodu City renewed their bitter rivalry in the Southwest Derby, playing out a 1-1 stalemate.
For Ikorodu City, it was their third consecutive draw, while 3SC are still in search of balance after wholesale change made at the management level of the club ahead of the new season.
In the Northwest Derby, Kano Pillars’ early-season struggles deepened after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Katsina United.
Warri Wolves and Bayelsa United began the season brightly, but both stumbled for the first time this weekend.
As expected, life in the NPFL has been tough for debutants Barau FC and Kun Khalifat.
After three matches, the pair remain winless. Barau at least managed a 1-1 draw with Bendel Insurance, but Kun Khalifat looked overwhelmed in llorin, suffering their second straight defeat.
Unless they adapt quickly, survival will become an uphill battle.
Kwara United also delighted their home fans, cruising past debutants Kun Khalifat 2-0 in llorin to register their first three points of the campaign.
