The National President of the Mwaghavul Development Association (MDA) Women’s Wing, Mrs Grace Joseph Gora, has called on Mwaghavul women to prioritise unity, peace and selfless service.
She described these as essential drivers of sustainable community development.
Mrs Gora made the appeal recently during the Swearing-In and Service of Awards Ceremony of the MDA Women’s Wing in Abuja and environs.
The event attracted women leaders and key stakeholders from the Mwaghavul community.
While addressing the gathering, she stressed that the MDA was built on cooperation, mutual respect and collective progress.
She cautioned that it must not be driven by rivalry or personal interests.
She urged the women to embrace unity and selfless service as pillars of sustainable development and reminded the new executives that leadership was a call to serve with “dignity and integrity” which should not be pursued for status.
She challenged members to be role models who actively contribute to peace-building within the Mwaghavul nation.
In her inaugural address, Na Regina Jonathan Lamba, newly elected President of the MDA Abuja wing, pledged a transparent and inclusive administration.
She disclosed that her roadmap would focus on economic empowerment through skills acquisition and financial support programmes.
She also promised attention to social wellbeing through health awareness and spiritual development.
Lamba paid tribute to the outgoing leadership led by Na Sarafina Dasok and thanked them for laying a solid foundation of stability.
The Mishkaham Mwaghavul (Abuja Branch), Da Aaron Rengkwat, and the MDA Branch Chairman, Mr Elijah Dakwar, delivered goodwill messages.
They praised the women for their peaceful transition of power and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Women’s Wing in uplifting the Mwaghavul community in the FCT.
The ceremony was attended by the Mishkaham of Abuja and environs, traditional elders and key stakeholders.
It served as a reminder of the influential role women play in the Mwaghavul socio-political landscape.
The new executives were challenged to measure success not by titles but by tangible, positive influence on society.
The inauguration signals a strategic move toward practical empowerment.
