Women in Colleges of Education elect new leaders at COE Hong

Women in Colleges of Education (WICE), Adamawa State College of Education, Hong Chapter, has elected new executive members following a peaceful and transparent election.

To ensure credibility and compliance with electoral guidelines, the election was supervised by Mrs. Omeje Sabina, a representative of the North-East Zonal Chairperson.

At the end of the exercise, the Chairperson of the Electoral Committee, Dr Rahab Pweddon, announced that Dr Lydia Adamu Justin emerged as Chairperson, with Mrs Naomi Benham elected as Vice Chairperson.Other officials elected include Mrs Elvinah Solomon as Secretary, Mrs Josephine Joshua as Assistant Secretary, Mrs Mary Barka as Treasurer, Hanatu Ishaku as Financial Secretary, and Madam Amina Idris as Public Relations Officer I.

Others are Miss Esther Anthony Chiwar as Public Relations Officer II, Ms Kultouno Bedan as Ex-Officio I, and Mrs Jessica O. Maitera as Ex-Officio II.Responding on behalf of the new executive members, the Chairperson, Dr Lydia Adamu Justin, pledged to pursue equal representation and advocate policies that will promote the welfare and professional growth of women in the institution.

Justin expressed gratitude to members for the confidence reposed in them and solicited continued support and cooperation.She assured members that under her leadership, women would be given a stronger voice within the college community.

WICE is an organisation dedicated to championing the rights and interests of women in Colleges of Education across Nigeria, promoting equity, empowerment and inclusion in the academic environment.
