Two suspected kidnappers have been arrested by operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command in connection with the abduction of a four-year-old child in Numan Local Government Area of the state.
The command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed this in a statement issued Friday.
According to him, the father of the boy, Umar Ibrahim, of Ngbalang village in Numan Local Government Area, reported the case to the police on March 2, 2026.
The statement read in part: “On 2 March 2026, one Umar Ibrahim of Ngbalang, Numan LGA, reported at the police station in Numan that on 1 March 2026, his four-year-old son, Ramadan, went out to play but did not return home. All efforts by the family to locate the child initially proved unsuccessful.”
It added that some days later, the complainant received a call from an unknown number informing him that his son had been kidnapped and demanding a ransom of eight hundred thousand naira (₦800,000).

”Following investigations by operatives of the command attached to the Numan Division, two suspects identified as Sadiq Ali, 19, and Shitu Umar, 23, both residents of Lafiya in Lamurde Local Government Area, were arrested in connection with the crime.
According to the police spokesman, the suspects voluntarily confessed to committing the crime during interrogation.
He further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police in the state had directed the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit to take over the case for discreet investigation and further necessary action.
The command assured residents of its commitment to protecting lives and property and urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police formation for prompt action.
