From Jidauna Yanung, Abuja

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed Renewed Hope Ambassadors to begin rice distribution across the 36 states of the federation to support Nigerians observing Ramadan and Lent.

The distribution, according to a press statement by the Director‑General of Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Hope Uzodimma, aims to strengthen national unity and demonstrate compassion during a period of deep spiritual reflection for both Muslims and Christians.

Under the directive, ambassadors will coordinate the distribution through their grassroots networks in states, local government areas, and wards.

The initiative, according to the statement, reflects the Tinubu administration’s commitment to standing with citizens during important religious periods while fostering solidarity among Nigeria’s diverse faith communities.Uzodimma, who is also the governor of Imo State, explained that the programme underscores the administration’s belief in supporting Nigerians during periods that emphasize sacrifice, charity, and service to others.

He said the ambassadors will ensure that families across Nigeria feel the spirit of togetherness during this sacred period. He recalled that a similar gesture was extended to Christians at Christmas, when rice was distributed.
