The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday, April 10, 2026, formally presented certificates of return to its duly elected National Chairman and other members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) at a ceremony held at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

News monitored on Radio Nigeria revealed that the event, attended by party chieftains, governors, lawmakers and supporters, marked the official ratification of the new leadership following the party’s recent national convention.

The certificates served as formal recognition of the officers’ mandates to steer the affairs of the ruling party. While presenting the certificates, a senior party official described the exercise as a “critical step in strengthening internal democracy and unity within the party,” noting that the leadership emergence reflected the collective will of party stakeholders across the country.

In his acceptance speech, the National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, expressed gratitude to party members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to foster inclusiveness, discipline and cohesion within the APC.

He emphasised the need to reposition the party ahead of future electoral contests while maintaining its governing edge.

He said, “Our focus is to consolidate on the gains of the party and ensure that every member, regardless of status, is carried along in decision-making processes.”He added, “We are committed to transparency, fairness, and the ideals that brought us together as a political family.”

Other members of the National Working Committee who also received their Certificates of Return echoed similar sentiments, assuring party faithful of their readiness to work collectively to deepen democratic values and strengthen party structures at all levels.

Several governors and stakeholders present at the ceremony hailed the new leadership, urging them to prioritise reconciliation in areas where internal disputes persist. They stressed that unity remained key to the party’s continued dominance in Nigeria’s political landscape.

The ceremony concluded with a renewed call for loyalty and support for the new leadership, as party members expressed optimism that the fresh mandate would usher in a more vibrant and cohesive APC ahead of future political engagements.
