Hon. Tahitang S. Palma, an aspirant, has appealed to politicians and all those aspiring to elective offices in the 2027 elections to exercise restraint and be tolerant towards one another for the survival of democracy and peaceful co-existence.
In an exclusive interview with THE NIGERIA STANDARD, Palma said without tolerance, patience and respect for the feelings of others, the political system would be unnecessarily heated in 2027, a situation which could derail its success.
He noted that some of the problems being experienced in some political parties were created by leaders who were elected through the support of the people but later turned dictatorial.
Hon. Palma, who is aspiring for Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, promised to bring development to the doorstep of the people if given the mandate, adding that he would operate an open-door policy.
On the recent killings in some parts of Plateau State, the aspirant expressed condolences to the families of victims.
He also expressed concern that the security situation in Plateau State and the wider Middle Belt remained fragile despite ongoing efforts at peacebuilding and conflict prevention.
