Plateau Peaks delivered a determined performance to secure a 69–63 victory over Gombe Bulls in Game 2 of Day 2 at the ongoing NBBF Men’s Premier Basketball League 2026 Savannah Conference (Phase 1, Group B).
The highly anticipated encounter lived up to expectations as Plateau Peaks showcased resilience, tactical discipline, and efficient execution to overcome a spirited Gombe Bulls side.
Plateau Peaks started strongly, establishing an early advantage with an energetic offensive display and disciplined defending. Gombe Bulls responded well and kept the contest competitive, but Plateau Peaks maintained composure throughout the game to stay in front.
The encounter remained intense heading into the closing stages, with Gombe Bulls pushing for a comeback. However, Plateau Peaks held firm in the final minutes to secure a hard-fought 69–63 victory.
Kingsley Nnanyelugo delivered a standout performance and was deservedly named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the game after recording 17 points, 2 steals, 3 assists, and 6 rebounds.
The victory provides a significant boost for Plateau Peaks as they continue their group-stage campaign with confidence and momentum. Their disciplined defense and cohesive teamwork ultimately proved decisive against a determined Gombe Bulls side.
