The African Democratic Congress in Nasarawa State has inaugurated a reconciliation committee to address grievances arising from its recently concluded primary elections.
The committee, inaugurated by the state chairman of the party, Chief John Mike Abdul, is expected to engage aggrieved aspirants for governorship, National Assembly and State House of Assembly positions.
According to a statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Hon. Isah Hamidu Allu, the committee has been given 14 days to complete its assignment and submit a report.
Speaking at the inauguration, Abdul said the committee was established to strengthen internal cohesion and reposition the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The committee is mandated to help the party in her efforts to build bridges, mend fences, and reposition the party as a the last hope for the people of Nasarawa State ahead of 2027,” he said.
The state-level committee, which will handle petitions arising from the governorship, Senate and House of Representatives primaries, is chaired by former minister and ADC founding member, Barr. Musa Elayo.
Other members are Hon. Yamusa Chindo, Hon. Sidi Ayigu, Adams Nysana, Audi Sarki Moroa, Aminu Nagogo, Ben Gabi, Hajiya Hauwa Pele and Mrs. Mary Auta, while Tanimu Zamani will serve as secretary.
For the State House of Assembly primaries, separate reconciliation committees were constituted for the three senatorial zones.
In Nasarawa South, Hon. Adamu Oyanki will chair the committee, with Hon. Obed Mebe, Sadiq Kasimu and Yahaya Oyankpa as members, while Dr. Taimako Sunday Anyuabaga will serve as secretary.
The Nasarawa West committee is headed by Ibrahim Baba Mohammed, with Rita Kaya, Ahmed Ohikwo Mohammad and Barr. Kabiru Dogara as members. Comrade Idris Ojoko will serve as secretary.
For Nasarawa North, Hon. AbdulKareem Usman was named chairman, alongside Sardauna Kaya, Yusuf Ahmed and Johnson Masin Zhezu, while David Attah will serve as secretary.
