From JOHNSON NONGU, Makurdi
Terver Atu has resigned his appointment as Special Assistant on Youth and Media Mobilisation in the Benue State Government..
Atu announced the resignation in a letter addressed to the Secretary to the State Government and posted on his Facebook page on Saturday, stating that it takes immediate effect.
“I write with profound respect and gratitude to tender my resignation from my position as Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth and Media Mobilization effective immediately,” he wrote.
He thanked Governor Alia for the opportunity to serve and expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him, wishing the administration well.
The resignation followed a visit Atu made to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, in Abuja, which attracted attention in political circles after he shared details and photographs from the meeting on social media.
In his post, Atu described Akume as “the most powerful Benue man alive” and commended the reception he received during the visit.
Atu did not provide any reason for his resignation in the letter, and there is no official indication linking the development to his visit to the SGF.
As of press time, the Benue State Government had not issued a statement on the resignation.
