Mhiship Youth defeated Mupun Youth 2–0 in a friendly football match played recently at the Plateau State Polytechnic field in Jos, in a contest framed around community unity through sport.
Eric Lamak scored twice to secure the win for Mhiship in a match that remained competitive but largely controlled by the victors.
Ambassador Bamnan Dawam, chairman of the organising committee, described the fixture as a reflection of shared identity between both sides.
“The outcome of this match has shown that we are brothers, despite our different backgrounds,” he said.
Mupun captain Patrick Dawap said the result did not overshadow the purpose of the encounter.
“It brought us together as brothers and gave us the opportunity to meet and interact with new friends,” he said.
Mhiship captain Panshak Sohotkyen said his side’s discipline and concentration proved decisive.
“It was a great outing for us. The players worked hard and remained focused throughout the match,” he said.
