Martins Iyeh has become the first housemate to leave the Big Brother Naija Season 11 reality show after spending two weeks in the competition.
The 30-year-old visual storyteller and model from Kogi State was evicted during Sunday night’s live show following viewers’ votes on the housemates nominated for possible eviction.
Martins was among the 24 contestants unveiled at the premiere of the 11th season of the reality show on July 26.
The season, tagged “Everything Is For The Taking” and also known as “Show Ya Sef”, comes with a record N160 million prize package, including N100 million in cash and an SUV.
Before entering the Big Brother house, Martins worked as a creative director, visual storyteller and model. He had also listed basketball among his interests and jokingly claimed mind-reading as one of his hidden talents.
During his brief stay in the house, Martins connected with several contestants and participated in conversations and social activities that contributed to the early dynamics of the season.
His birthday was also celebrated by his fellow housemates shortly after the show began. The celebration featured a special gathering, prayers and goodwill messages, while Mercedes entertained him with a performance.
His eviction followed a nomination process that saw a large number of housemates placed at risk.
Sixteen contestants were initially up for possible eviction in the second week before the Head of House, Sheba, exercised her power to save Chimsom Chuka. Aikou and Flora also remained protected as the season’s Gambits.
The ongoing season has introduced a number of twists as the remaining contestants compete through weekly tasks, nominations, alliances and evictions for the grand prize.
With Martins’ departure, 23 housemates remain in contention for the Season 11 crown.
